Zambian teen shines at Global 'Fearless' leadership Grand Finale in Moscow

Zambia's young talent was in the international spotlight after Elizabeth Tembo, a beneficiary of the Her Voice Foundation, emerged among the finalists at the grand finale of the global educational project "Fearless", held on July 8, 2026, at the headquarters of the World Peoples' Assembly in Moscow, Russia.

The international event brought together more than 1,000 high school students, young teachers and female scientists from Russia, Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malaysia and Tajikistan.

It was organised with the support of the World Peoples' Assembly, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the International Institute of Management of Entrepreneurs' Associations, the Fearless Foundation (Malaysia), the Her Voice Foundation (Zambia), and the Women Influence Community.

The Fearless programme seeks to nurture the next generation of women leaders by promoting leadership, public speaking, critical thinking and humanitarian diplomacy through educational and cultural exchanges.

Applications for the programme opened in February this year, followed by qualifying rounds held between April and May.

A panel of Russian public figures and experts selected only three finalists from the participating countries to compete in the grand finale in Moscow.

Among them was Elizabeth Tembo, a determined young woman from Kalingalinga Compound in Lusaka, who proudly represented Zambia on the international stage.

Elizabeth has been supported by the Her Voice Foundation since its inception.

Through the foundation, she received financial support for her education as well as specialised vocal training that has helped nurture her artistic talent.

The Moscow event marked her second visit to Russia, where she delivered a compelling speech during the competition and captivated the audience with a special vocal performance that showcased her musical abilities.

During the final, contestants presented community-based projects before an international panel of experts, delivered speeches on the theme, "If I Were a Sorceress, What Three Miracles Would I Perform for Humanity?", and participated in a debate on "National and Cultural Self-Determination and the Unity of Humanity."

Beyond the competition, participants took part in cultural exchange activities and networking sessions with representatives of the World Peoples' Assembly and members of the international business community.

Elizabeth's achievement highlights the growing impact of youth empowerment initiatives in Zambia and demonstrates how investment in education, mentorship and talent development can open doors for young people to compete and excel on the global stage.
