Together We Can And We Will

Makebi Zulu (MZ8)

Fellow Zambians,
Earlier today, as I went about my routine morning exercise, I caught sight of our national flag mounted high on a pole, flying proudly in the wind. In that solemn but powerful moment, I was reminded of hope. I was reminded of the Zambia we can build together, a Zambia that lives up to the promise of its flag and the sacrifices of its people.
It reminded me of a Zambia where laws are shaped by the will of the people, not imposed by a few privileged individuals.
A Zambia where every citizen is equal before the law, regardless of status, tribe, or political affiliation.
It reminded me of a Zambia where our farmers are respected and supported and paid on time, given adequate farming inputs on time, and empowered to feed the nation with dignity.
A Zambia where hard work in the fields translates into food on the table and prosperity in our communities.
It reminded me of a Zambia where basic necessities are affordable. where sugar, cooking oil, mealie meal, and other essentials are within reach of every household, and where no Zambian goes to bed hungry.
It reminded me of a Zambia where our minerals and natural resources truly benefit Zambians.
Where investment works hand in hand with national development, and our wealth uplifts our people, not just a few investors.
Above all, it reminded me of a Zambia that knows no tribe, no division, no exclusion but stands firmly on the principle of One Zambia, One Nation, One People.
Fellow citizens, this Zambia will not come by chance. It will only come if you and I choose to work together in peace, unity, and harmony, putting the national interest above personal or political gain.
Good sirs and madams.
Our young people, especially Ba Gen Z.
My fellow citizens in Dundumwezi, Sinda, Misale, Chundaponde, Kwa Kazembe, Kwa Bwina, and across every corner of our great nation, Let us stand together. Let us speak with one voice. Let us act with purpose.
As we look ahead to 2026, let us commit ourselves to building the Zambia we all deserve and making Zambia great together. I pledge to walk with you, to work for you as your servant and not boss. Together we can and we will.
